MAHNOMEN, MN, April 2, 2008 - Shooting Star Casino, Hotel and Event Center, a premier Northern Minnesota casino destination, was recently recognized with a Telly Award for its 2007 advertising campaign. Selected from more than 14,000 entries was Shooting Star's "Now that's More!" television campaign developed by Minneapolis-based agency Russell Herder.
"It's exciting to have our work recognized with such a prestigious award. We're very proud of the campaign we were able to develop with Russell Herder," said Shooting Star's director of marketing LeAnn Person. "It's fun and entertaining, and that's what you can expect from Shooting Star."
The series of four commercials, titled "Meat Raffle," "Girls' Night Out," "Bad Comedian" and "Basement Poker" features life moments in which the characters aren't getting the type of entertainment they expected. The campaign challenges consumers, "Feel like you deserve more?" contrasting the experiences to the kind of entertainment you'd find at Shooting Star Casino. "Now that's More" is Shooting Star's offer and promise of more fun and more entertainment.
"Shooting Star's emphasis on hospitality and entertainment gave us a foundation for strong work," said Russell Herder executive creative director Brian Herder. "Most casino advertising gets pretty tiresome; these commercials are fun to watch and really do reflect the Shooting Star brand."
